Ourika Valley Day Trip, Take a break from the frenzied activity of Marrakesh in a cool mountain valley, the Ourika Valley is a great getaway not far from the city.
On this trek, you will travel by road to the picturesque village of Ourika nestled in the High Atlas Mountain Range. Your day trek in the mountains will allow you to experience some of the beauty of the North African countryside without sacrificing the comforts of your hotel or riad. You pass the village of Ouigrane on your way up a 6,563-foot peak. From the top, you will be rewarded with a panoramic view over Ait Oucheg Valley, full of terraces and traditional houses made of stone and clay.
Ourika is a typical Berber village. The people are friendly and open and they will be happy to show you around. You will get to see how the Berbers live and to experience some of their food and their culture.
Your day trek to Ourika will include a trip to the 7 waterfalls of Setti Fadma and the stunning Ghamt Mosque. Along the way, your guides will talk you through the area, including pointing out which plants in the area are medicinal.
Your lunch will be served in a small, authentic Berber restaurant.
